We are seeking a Senior Theater Specialist to join the Programs Division of the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture Department.
The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) is an iconic landmark building, a beacon for knowledge to illuminate, inspire, and catalyze the potential of the Kingdom’s vast talent pool. Facilities include an idea lab, library, theater, museum, energy exhibit, art gallery, children’s museum, and a knowledge tower housed under one roof to provide visitors with an immersive and transformative experience.
The Programs Division is responsible for planning and executing all King Abdulaziz Center‘s programs, including, but not limited to, the Museum programs, Theater and Performing Arts programs, as well as Keystone and the Outreach programs. In addition, it is responsible for the Library and other educational, scientific, technological programs and administering the Performing Arts productions programs.
You will be responsible for the Production Coordination, which includes the planning, scoping, and scheduling for the production and technical operations of the theater.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in theater, theatrical studies, and English literature, creative practice, and direction or a related field.
You will have ten (10) years of experience in the production and technical areas of the performing arts.
Knowledge and experience in theatre or television production administration.
A proven track record of successfully coordinating all aspects of theatrical or television productions.
Knowledge of the international Performing Arts industry, including centers, theatres, opera houses, and companies.
Duties and Responsibilities
You are required to perform the following:
Central point of contact for production and technical related matters within the theatre and other projects of the following:
Assist the Production Manager in all theatre activities.
Work closely with the Technical Manager, Master Carpenter, and Master Electrician.
Work closely with the Performing Arts team in developing plans and schedules to ensure the timely delivery of production elements.
Communicate schedule and planning information and changes to all relevant parties.
Report on the performance of service contracts and contractor obligations.
Coordinate technical scheduling and budget control for performing arts.
Liaise with international performing arts companies to coordinate documentation of receiving shows and co-productions.
Preparation of service provider scopes of work and contracts.
Ensure all production documentation, including show plots, build procedures, and risk assessments, are up to date and easily accessible.
Promote the Theater and establish and maintain positive working relationships with all user groups.
Liaise internally with all centers and Saudi Aramco departments, divisions, and components to help execute the requirements of performing arts – communication, marketing, administrative approvals, contracting, transportation, and venue policies.
