Position Description

We are looking for a Power Generation Turbine Engineer to support the iPower Centre under Power System Engineering Department (PSED).

PSED is responsible for providing and managing highly technical and specialized engineering services to support the safe and reliable operation of Saudi Aramco electrical power systems generation, transmission and distribution networks. iPower is Monitoring and Dianoetic (M&D) canter that will deploy the artificial intelligence tools to monitor the whole value chain of power systems. For Saudi Aramco power plants, the iPower will closely monitor the performance of the plants to enhance the plant reliability and detect anatomize before they aggravate to failure. The iPower canter will be the hub of intelligent solutions to enhance the overall system performance.

You will be responsible to investigate turbine operational issues, conduct root cause analysis for turbine failures, plan repair / maintenance work, and maintain fleet history data. Also, you will provide technical expertise and engineering support in the area of gas and steam turbines to address any potential gap.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. A degree or certification in the AI-based tools for pattern recognition application will be highly valued.

You must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as turbine engineer in utilities or OEM with high knowledge in Operational and Maintenance (O&M) procedures for different type of turbines.

You should be familiar with generation modeling tools used in the M&D canters that calculate the power plant performance based on the digital twin of the machine.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will be expected to perform the following:

Assess the overall power plant reliability by analysing the output of M&D canter relative to power plant reliability and participate in enhancement of the M&D canter capability by proposing latest monitoring technologies.

Investigate turbine failure through diagnostic analysis of operational data for both steady-state and transient operation, along with physical inspection results of plant components as required.

Develop turbine testing procedures to demonstrate compliance with contractual performance guarantees.
