We are seeking an Instructional Designer to join the Curriculum Design and Control Unit of the Technical Services Professional Academy (TSPA).
TSPA is responsible for assessing and identifying organizational technical competency gaps, providing integrated learning and development solutions to close identified gaps for facilitating the technical career progression of employees. TSPA is also responsible for designing, developing, and coordinating the facilitation of training solutions and assuring compliance with managing the learning function standards, processes, etc. In addition, TSPA reviews and validates the integrity of the training curriculum development process, qualifying instructors and measuring, evaluating, and reporting TSPA’s training impact on employees’ job performance. The target audience of TSPA includes engineers, scientists, project management professionals, procurement and supply chain professionals, and inspectors.
The Instructional Designers primary role is to assess, design, and develop performance-based training solutions and evaluation tools to promote effective learning that will impact business performance.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in Education or Instructional Design and Technology or other related disciplines from a recognized and approved university program. An advanced degree is preferred.
You will have six to eight years of experience in Instructional Design and Technology.
You must have excellent command of oral and written English.
Work experience in oil and gas sector is preferred, specifically in training and program development, and in the Middle East, especially in the Gulf states.
Certified Professional in Learning and Performance, TESOL, instructional design and technology certificate, or similar certificates are preferred.
Certified or Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design is preferred.
You will have leadership and project management experience.
You will be familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), LMS, and CMS.
You are familiar with recent training trends and technologies.
You have good communication skills to work with business partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
Under minimal supervision, lead project and organizational teams by conducting needs analyses, selecting learning approaches, designing curricula, programs, assessments, and other learning solutions.
Develop instructional materials for program participants and facilitators.
Provide direction and professional guidance to the curriculum and assessment development team members.
Perform comprehensive review of assessments before signing off on blueprints and final versions.
Provide guidance, knowledge transfer, and knowledge sharing to peers and subordinate personnel in the division, as required.
Provide consultation on proposed program policy changes, including the evaluation of current activities.
Perform program-level metrics analysis to ensure quality requirements are met for program outcomes.
Research, analyze, and write major study reports, and develop proposals relating to the development and evaluation of training programs.
Take account of trends in the field, Saudi Aramco training, and in the local, regional, and international arenas.
Monitor contract activities for assigned projects, and may prepare technical scopes of work and participate in technical bid evaluation.
Ensure that projects are appropriately staffed and meet time, budget, and other scope requirements.
Liaise with business partners to identify relevant job performance criteria for Saudi Aramco training program participants.
Conduct benchmarking studies with similar national and international organizations and perform other duties as assigned.
